Overview
Microservices Testing turns a specialised topic into a coherent, job-relevant workflow. Participants learn to design a layered test strategy for distributed services where contracts, dependencies, asynchronous messages and observability shape quality risk, using microservice architecture and its testing consequences to establish the foundation and service maps, ownership and dependency risk to deepen the work. Learners map service boundaries, select component, contract and integration checks, test failure propagation and use logs, metrics and traces to follow requests across a representative system. The final part connects component tests at the service boundary with reporting, review and improvement so that the result can support an actual quality decision. The course reduces dependence on brittle full-environment tests by showing how focused evidence can build confidence at each boundary.

Learning Outcomes
- Map service boundaries, dependencies and failure paths.
- Allocate tests across component, contract, integration and journey layers.
- Design checks for synchronous APIs and asynchronous messages.
- Evaluate retries, timeouts, fallbacks and partial failures.
- Use logs, metrics and traces to diagnose distributed behaviour.
- Document environment limitations and residual integration risk.
